Longarm quilting is a specialized technique where a large sewing machine with an extended arm is used to quilt layers of fabric together. The fabric and batting is attached to a frame while the machine moves over the quilt, guided either manually or by computer-programmed gears and bands. This allows for larger quilting designs and faster completion of quilting projects compared to traditional quilting methods. Longarm quilting offers several advantages, including faster completion times, the ability to create intricate quilting designs, and the professional finish it provides to quilts.
Please ship your quilt top and, if not purchasing from us, your backing and batting to:
Elli Quilts

We recommend using a tracked shipping method and ensuring that your quilt is securely packaged to prevent any damage or loss during transit. This is a safe shipping address where your quilt will never sit outside unsecured. You can rest assured that we have never lost a quilt in shipping.
Before sending your quilt to be longarm quilted, ensure that the quilt top and backing is pressed and free from any loose threads or debris. The batting and backing fabric must be a minimum of 8 inches longer and 8 inches wider than your quilt top. The extra is required to allow the needed space to attach the quilt to the longarm frame. If it is not large enough, there may be an additional charge for the extra work needed to attach the quilt to the frame or we may not be able to finish your quilt with that backing at all.
If your quilt top or backing has a specific direction, mark the top with a safety pinned note to indicate which way is up.
At Elli Quilts, we offer a range of longarm quilting services, including edge-to-edge quilting, custom quilting: either freehand or computerized designs, and basting services for those who prefer to hand-quilt their projects. We can also create a fully commissioned quilt according to your vision.
Edge-to-edge quilting starts at 2.5 cents per square inch, some patterns cost slightly more due to the density of the quilting. There are optional extra products and services such as trimming and binding or buying batting or backing fabric from us. You can get the exact price for edge-to-edge quilting on your quilt top with our order form.
Custom freehand or computerized quilting starts at 5 cents per square inch and is based on the complexity of the designs chosen and thread color changes.

There is a minimum charge of $60 per project.
